Christopher Bock

August 1, 1959 – July 29, 2006

All of us at Digidesign are deeply saddened by the unexpected loss of Christopher Bock, one of our longest-serving and most valued team members, and a close friend to many of us.

Christopher Bock, or CB as many of us knew him, had a long tenure with Digidesign, playing a vital role in the company’s early success. As longtime vice president of sales and marketing, CB had recently been transitioning into a new role to focus on building strategic new business areas, the first of which was helping to expand Digidesign’s growth in the live sound market.

While it is difficult to describe the impact he had on his family, friends, and colleagues, CB was known as an incredibly charismatic individual whose creativity never ceased to amaze those around him. When CB walked in the room, everyone knew it; he had a larger-than-life presence and infectious personality that seemed to draw you in. In so many ways, CB was instrumental in defining the culture of Digidesign.

Outside of work, CB kept busy doing what he loved most: spending time with his twin daughters Sophia and Natasha. CB was also an amazing percussionist and enjoyed SCUBA diving as well. More recently, CB had partnered with friends on several new business ventures, including Red at One Union, a professional recording studio in San Francisco; Tiernan’s Irish Pub and Restaurant, also located in San Francisco; and Red Ginger, a pan-Asian restaurant in Half Moon Bay, California, where he lived.

CB was regarded by his family and close friends as an incredibly generous and thoughtful person, and will be sorely missed. All of us at Digidesign extend our deepest sympathies to CB’s family and closest friends, and invite anyone who knew CB to post pictures and/or messages on the following blog set up in CB’s memory:

In honor of one of CB’s passions, the family encourages donations in his name to his favorite charitable foundations:
